GENERAL INFORMATION As sponsors of the event and reenactors ourselves, we wish all of you a great time. Below is a listing of a few items we feel are paramount and necessary for a safe and enjoyable event. We've included links to detailed information about the event, event rules, and a map of the area. FIRE AWARENESS is paramount. Keep a water bucket or fire extinguisher by each fire pit. No weapons firing of any kind beyond the battlefield areas. SAFETY AWARENESS: is always important. Be aware of safety distances from opposing troops, the spectators and the mounted units. No hand to hand style engagements or movement outside of battlefield boundaries unless pre-scripted and approved by both commands. Note: A list of area hospitals is shown below. SHOW RESPECT FOR THE EVENT SITE: This is a working ranch and should be kept undisturbed as much as possible. Trash receptacles have been provided for your convenience. Poison oak is prevalent throughout the site. Be aware and travel in designated areas. The campaign camping areas are the exception. Enter at your own risk.
VEHICLES OUT OF CAMPS by 9:00 am Saturday morning. SHOW TOLERANCE FOR FELLOW REENACTORS. This being an invitational style event, a variety of impressions, personnel and units will be present. We request that all reenactors be aware of this fact and show tolerance, if not in agreement. Please refrain from making unflattering or negative comments to others. As reenactors we are all here to have fun and we therefore ask that you treat each other well. COMMAND & CONTROL: Battle scenarios and organizational control and command are rotated yearly between the clubs. This year the ACWA is in command. All reenactors are expected to follow the chain of command set in place. Those reenactors not wishing to follow the chain of command and/or causing any disruption will be asked to leave the event. SAFETY & ENFORCEMENT: The event safety rules and guidelines have been updated this year. We are using standardized Pacific Area Civil War Reenactor Safety Rules. All commanders and reenactors have access to them via the web site. In our attempt to monitor and control this, CHAS-designated safety personnel will be on the battle field. If a situation warrants resolving, it will be dealt with. This enforcement committee will consist of the Presidents of ACWA, CHAS & NCWA. FEED BACK PLEASE! We are always striving to improve this event. While we know you can't please all the reenactors all the time. We are open to your suggestions or comments.
